President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he has approved new operations by the Security Service of Ukraine. The head of state announced the relevant decision after a report by the SBU leadership on the results of work on the front and special operations carried out.
Zelenskyy stated this in his evening address.
According to the president, the report discussed the results of the SBU’s activities since the beginning of 2026, in particular the work of units on the front line.
“Soldiers of the SBU – Central Military District “A” are number one in terms of enemy defeats at the front since the beginning of the year. We are effectively defending our state, we are defending our independence. And today I approved our new operations with the Security Service of Ukraine,” Zelenskyy said.
The president did not specify the details of future operations, but emphasized the effectiveness of the special services’ work in countering Russian troops.
Also in the address, Zelenskyy commented on the statements of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, who had previously rejected the possibility of a meeting at the leadership level.
“He simply doesn’t want to end the war. I think many in the world were disappointed by this response,” the head of state said.
According to the president, the Kremlin’s refusal to engage in direct negotiations indicates the Russian leadership’s unwillingness to change its policy and stop the war against Ukraine.
As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelensky published an open letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin . In it, he called on the Russian leader to end the war and offered to hold a personal meeting.
As reported, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, during a speech at an economic forum in St. Petersburg, commented on the letter from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, spoke about possible negotiations, the goals of the war, and attacks by Ukrainian drones on the territory of the Russian Federation.
