Donald Trump changed his rhetoric towards Volodymyr Zelenskyy after their meeting at the NATO summit in The Hague.
This was reported in the Financial Times.
Trump changed his rhetoric about Zelensky, saying he was a “very nice man” and adding that “he’s fighting bravely.”
He also took a tougher stance on Vladimir Putin, expressing disappointment over his unwillingness to end the war.
“Putin really needs to stop this war. People are dying on a scale the world has not seen in a long time,” Trump said. He also added that the Kremlin leader had offered him help in resolving the conflict between Iran and Israel, but he replied: “No, you better help me with Russia.”
The publication notes that at the beginning of the negotiations to end the war, Trump showed greater favoritism towards Putin. He called him several times, and the American side conducted direct negotiations with Russia.
However, recently, Trump’s disappointment in the Russian president has only grown due to his tough demands and unwillingness to stop the fighting.
