The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) adopted a resolution “Russia: New Threats to European Democracies,” which condemns aggression against Ukraine — strikes on civilian infrastructure, cyberattacks, disinformation campaigns.
This was announced by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk.
He emphasized that the Russian invasion of Ukraine is a key factor destabilizing the situation in Europe.
The resolution also states that it is impossible to hold peace talks without Ukraine. It also emphasizes the need to strengthen sanctions, create a system of international accountability for the crimes of the Russian Federation, and support the Council of Europe’s Action Plan for Ukraine.
At the same time, the document condemns not only aggression against Ukraine, but also Russian interference in the elections of European states.
“Thank you PACE for your consistent support. A just and lasting peace in Europe is possible only through the victory of Ukraine and the restoration of our territorial integrity,” Stefanchuk summed up.
We will remind, last year PACE called on European politicians to return Ukrainian children deported to Russia and help all children affected by the war.
