Ukrainian company Odd Systems, known for producing Kurbas thermal imaging cameras, has announced a strategic partnership with leading Danish defense company Terma. The main goal of the partnership is to create an affordable air defense system to combat enemy drones.
This is reported by Defense Express.
Terma Group is a key supplier of components for the fifth-generation F-35 fighter jet. Its PIDS+ and ECIPS+ pylons are already installed on Ukrainian F-16s. As part of the new project, Terma plans to integrate its sensor technologies and situational awareness solutions into Ukrainian-developed unmanned platforms.
Odd Systems is not currently disclosing technical details of the project, but the Danish side has confirmed that the cooperation is based on combat-proven solutions. These include detection systems that can effectively counter UAVs through a combination of artificial intelligence, modern electronics, and sensors.
“This collaboration combines the best of Western defense engineering with Ukrainian military innovations,” Terma noted.
In addition to aviation components, Terma is active in the field of ground and maritime radar, and also supplies over 80 critical elements for the F-35 — from fuselage parts to avionics and electronic warfare systems.
As a reminder, against the backdrop of a new wave of Russian offensive, Ukraine has begun mass use of unique small arms ammunition capable of effectively destroying enemy drones at a distance of up to 50 meters . This decision should change the rules of the game on the battlefield, where small UAVs have become one of the main threats to infantry.
As reported, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has developed a draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, which provides for the procedure and amount of monetary rewards for military personnel for the implementation and use of their innovative developments .
