Norway has transferred a new batch of missiles for NASAMS air defense systems to Ukraine to strengthen protection against regular Russian missile and air attacks.

This was reported by the press service of the Norwegian government.

Oslo emphasizes that support for Ukraine remains one of the priorities of state policy. Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre recalled that 85 billion Norwegian kroner is allocated for civilian and military assistance to Ukraine in 2026 under the Nansen program.

According to him, Norway will continue to help Ukraine resist Russian aggression and strengthen its defense capabilities.

The NASAMS systems used by Ukraine were provided by several partner countries, including the United States, Canada, and Lithuania. These systems have already demonstrated high effectiveness in intercepting Russian missiles.

As the developer and owner of the system, Norway recently provided the Armed Forces of Ukraine with a significant number of anti-aircraft missiles necessary for the smooth operation of air defense.

Defense Minister Tore Sandvik emphasized that the delivery was carried out in close coordination with the United States and other allies at a critical moment so that the NASAMS systems can continue to effectively protect the civilian population of Ukraine from air strikes.

Recall, Spain will transfer to Ukraine the Lanza LTR-25 tactical early detection radar to strengthen air defense.

As reported, the Czech Republic’s ruling coalition did not support the transfer of Aero L-159 ALCA combat aircraft to Ukraine and effectively blocked their sale to Kyiv.

By the way, Norway is allocating 4 billion Norwegian kroner to Ukraine – that’s about 17 billion hryvnias. The funds will go to support the energy sector and ensure the stable operation of the state.
