Air Defense Forces Disarm 563 Russian Drones and 26 Missiles

On the night of August 28, Russian occupiers carried out a drone-missile attack on Ukraine and launched 629 air attack weapons. Air defense neutralized 589 targets.

On the night of August 28 (from 19:30 on August 27), the enemy launched a massive attack on the territory of Ukraine using attack UAVs, air- and land-based missiles:

• 598 Shahed-type attack UAVs and various types of simulator drones in the directions of Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Orel, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in the Russian Federation, Gvardeyskoye in the Crimean TOT;
• 2 aeroballistic missiles Kh-47M2 “Kinzhal” from the airspace of Lipetsk and Voronezh regions of the Russian Federation
• 9 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from the Bryansk and Voronezh regions of the Russian Federation
• 20 X-101 cruise missiles from the airspace in the Saratov region of the Russian Federation.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data, as of 09:00, air defense shot down/suppressed 589 air targets:

• 563 hostile Shahed-type UAVs and drone impersonators of various types;
• aeroballistic missile Kh-47M2 “Kinzhal”;
• 7 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles;
• 18 X-101 cruise missiles.

Let us recall that on the night of August 28, Kiev was subjected to one of the largest attacks in recent months . Russian troops simultaneously used attack drones, ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as hypersonic “Daggers”, which led to large-scale destruction in several areas of the city. By the morning, four people were reported dead, including two children, and more than two dozen people were injured.
