Air defense neutralized 98 UAVs: not a single ballistic target was shot down

On the night of August 5, Russian troops launched a massive combined attack on the territory of Ukraine, using 143 airstrikes. The main direction of the attack was the Kyiv region.

This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the military, the invaders launched four Zircon/Onyx anti-ship missiles, 24 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles, as well as 115 Shahed , Gerbera , Italmas attack drones and Parodia simulator drones. The launches were carried out from the territory of the Kursk, Bryansk and Rostov regions of the Russian Federation, as well as from the temporarily occupied areas of the Donetsk region and Crimea.

Aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine were involved in repelling the attack.

As of 08:30, air defense forces had shot down or suppressed 98 enemy drones of various types in the north, east, and south of the country.

At the same time, none of the 24 ballistic missiles launched by the Russian forces were shot down .

Missile hits and 17 strike drones were recorded at 26 locations. In addition, debris from downed targets was recorded in six more locations.

In particular, the Air Force noted that the attack continued even after the report was published, as several Russian drones remained in Ukrainian airspace. Ukrainians were urged not to ignore air alert signals and to follow safety rules.
