Several cities in the Kyiv region recorded a temporary deterioration in air quality on the morning of August 27 due to the consequences of the Russian attack.

This was reported by the Kyiv Regional Military Administration.

Increased pollution levels were recorded in Boryspil, Ivankiv, Bila Tserkva, Vasylkiv, Obukhiv, and Brovary.

In particular, in Boryspil, monitoring posts detected elevated levels of carbon dioxide and fine dust, which is formed as a result of fires. In the other mentioned cities, air quality temporarily deteriorated due to the concentration of fine dust.

Experts note that pollution can cause respiratory discomfort, especially in children, the elderly, and those who are sensitive to irritants.

Until the situation normalizes, residents are recommended to:

    • keep the windows closed;
    • do not stay outdoors for a long time;
    • drink enough water;
    • If possible, use the air purifier on maximum mode.

At the same time, in other settlements of the Kyiv region, where monitoring is conducted, no exceedances of permissible levels of chemical and biological substances were detected.

The level of gamma radiation in the region remains within the natural background.

It was previously reported that on the night of Thursday, August 27, Russian forces launched missile and drone strikes on several regions of Ukraine. Explosions were heard, in particular, in Kyiv, Zaporizhia, Kryvyi Rih, Kharkiv, and Odessa.
