Algerian military aircraft regularly fly through the airspace of EU countries, including Poland, en route to Russia. The Polish portal Defence24 links these flights to military-technical cooperation between Algeria and Moscow and the possible transport of weapons.

This is reported by the Polish portal Defence24.

The last such incident was recorded on October 6. An Algerian Air Force Lockheed C-130H-30 Hercules aircraft took off from Boufarik Air Base and flew over Italy, Croatia, Hungary, and Slovakia, before entering Polish airspace.

The plane then headed east, flew near Hajnówka and crossed Belarus into Russia. It eventually landed at Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport. The plane’s appearance over Poland at 06:45 was reported by Polish Military Radar.

According to the publication, this is not an isolated flight. In recent weeks, Algerian military transport aircraft, including the Il-76MD, C-130H/H-30 Hercules, and LM-100J Super Hercules, have been spotted repeatedly over Poland.

Polish journalists note that such aircraft can be used to transport weapons, components and personnel within the framework of military-technical cooperation between Algeria and Russia. At the same time, the exact composition of the cargo of these flights is not publicly disclosed. Earlier, the publication also wrote that there is no official confirmation of the specific cargo.

Similar flights are also being made in the opposite direction. In particular, on October 2, two Algerian military transport aircraft — an Il-76MD and a C-130H Hercules — took off from Moscow, passed through Belarus, and crossed Polish airspace on their way to Algeria.

The publication emphasizes that for Poland, the issue is not so much the flight of Algerian military aircraft, but the fact that a regular air route passes through the territory of a NATO country, which is used as part of Algeria’s military cooperation with Russia.
