Aliyev and Pashinyan proposed to nominate Trump for the Nobel Prize
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan have announced their intention to nominate US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Aliyev voiced the proposal during the signing ceremony of the peace treaty between the two countries at the White House on August 8.
The leaders stressed that Trump had completed a long-term negotiating process in a short time. The agreement envisages normalization of relations between the countries, the construction of a transport corridor that will connect Azerbaijan with its enclave through the territory of Armenia.
According to the document, the United States receives the right to build this route, which will be called the “Trump Path for International Peace and Prosperity.”
Let us recall that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed an agreement at the White House to normalize relations between the countries after 35 years of conflict.
