All patrol police leadership dismissed in Kyiv

In Kyiv, after an internal investigation, the leadership of the patrol police was dismissed – the personnel decisions affected the entire vertical.
This was announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko during a meeting with journalists.
According to him, leaders of various levels have been removed from their positions, from platoon commanders to the head of the Kyiv Patrol Police Department. At the same time, he did not rule out that these are not all the personnel changes.
“The entire vertical has now been removed from their positions: from the platoon commander to the head of the Kyiv City Patrol Police Department. These may not be all the personnel decisions,” Klymenko noted.
The minister added that final personnel decisions are made by the head of the National Police.
He separately emphasized that the units plan to appoint deputies for service training only from among those with combat experience.
“My demand is to appoint to the positions of deputies for service training only persons who have undergone combat operations,” the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized.
Klymenko also commented on the resignation of the head of the Patrol Police Department, Yevheniy Zhukov, noting that it was his personal decision.
“Zhukov’s position is his personal reaction to what happened,” the minister said.

Earlier, the head of the Patrol Police Department of the National Police of Ukraine, Yevheniy Zhukov, resigned after the shooting in Kyiv . The decision is related to the scandal surrounding the actions of patrol officers who left the scene after the shots were fired.
The day before, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Ihor Klymenko, ordered an official investigation into the actions of police officers during the terrorist attack in Kyiv , which killed civilians.
As is known, an unknown person opened fire on people in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv . Subsequently, Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko reported that a child was injured as a result of the shooting in the capital, and is currently hospitalized.
Later, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that an attacker who opened fire on civilians and took hostages in Kyiv had been eliminated . According to him, 6 people died as a result of the incident, and 9 more were hospitalized with injuries.
As of the morning of April 19, 8 people are in the capital’s hospitals who were injured as a result of the shooting in the Holosiivskyi district on April 18.
