All residents of 60 settlements in Sumy region were completely evacuated – head of the OVA

As part of evacuation measures, all residents of 60 settlements in the Sumy region left completely.

This was announced by the head of the regional administration, Oleg Grigorov.

In particular, during this week, more than 400 people were evacuated from the border communities of Sumy region, 26 of them were children.

According to the OVA, people are mainly leaving from two districts — Sumy and Shostka.

“People are forced to leave for safer areas due to constant enemy shelling of civilian infrastructure,” explained Oleg Grigorov.

In total, more than 60% of residents have already left dangerous areas in Sumy region. At the same time, residents of 213 settlements are subject to evacuation.

Earlier, Oleg Grigorov stated that the situation in Sumy region remains tense, but is under the control of the Defense Forces, so there are no reasons for evacuation from the regional center yet .

As it became known, Russian occupation troops are advancing in the Sumy region, in particular , the enemy has reached a distance that allows it to strike the regional center with FPV drones .

As a reminder, the spokesman for the State Border Service of Ukraine Andriy Demchenko stated that a new stage of the Russian ground offensive is underway in northern Ukraine. In the Sumy region, Russian troops continue to transfer infantry groups within the Yunakivska and Khotynska communities.
