Almost 3,000 civilians are still in Kostyantynivka in the Donetsk region, despite the fact that evacuation from the city is becoming increasingly difficult.

This was reported by Ukrinform with reference to Dmytro Petlin, head of the department of operational-duty service, communications, alerting and informing the population of the Department for Civil Protection, Mobilization and Defense Work of the Donetsk OVA.

“There remains in Kostyantynivka, and this is a static figure – 2,850 people,” he noted.

However, according to the official, there are currently a little more people in the Kostyantynivska community — 2,910 people.

At the same time, the evacuation of the population is currently a complex process that is becoming increasingly dangerous.

“As for evacuation measures, things are different – sometimes there is an opportunity to go in and evacuate, sometimes not. At the moment, the situation there is very difficult,” Petlin added.

Earlier, the soldiers of the 19th Army Corps denied the occupiers’ claims that Russian forces control part of Kostyantynivka . Ukrainian fighters confidently hold the defense and destroy the enemy on the approaches to the city.

We remind you that during the day on January 7 , 14 assault actions were recorded in the Kostyantynivka direction near Kostyantynivka, Oleksandro-Shultyny, Kleban-Byk, Yablunivka, Rusyny Yar and in the direction of Sofiivka, two clashes are ongoing.
