Almost 90% of Russian missiles and drones contain Japanese components.
Japanese-made electronic components have been found in approximately 90% of Russian cruise and ballistic missiles, as well as drones, used by Russia in the war against Ukraine.
This was reported in a comment to Kyodo News by Vladislav Vlasyuk, Advisor and Commissioner for Sanctions Policy to the President of Ukraine.
According to the publication, according to internal Ukrainian government documents reviewed by Kyodo News, the X-101 cruise missiles use electronic components from leading Japanese semiconductor and other electronics manufacturers.
It is noted that most of the discovered parts are civilian electronic components freely sold in Japan. Journalists believe Russia is using dual-use or general-use goods, the export of which is more difficult to control under sanctions restrictions.
According to Vladislav Vlasyuk, this situation demonstrates the need for stronger international control over the supply of electronic components that could be used by the Russian military-industrial complex.
Canada announced a new package of sanctions against Russia. The restrictions target representatives of the Russian energy sector, defense industry, propaganda organizations, and vessels of the so-called shadow fleet.
It was previously reported that the UK announced a new sanctions package against Russia , which is intended to target schemes to circumvent Western restrictions. The new measures target vessels transporting Russian oil, LNG tankers, intermediaries, and entities linked to Russian military intelligence.
As a reminder, the European Union has approved another round of sanctions against Russia. The new restrictions target Russian military-industrial complex enterprises, companies linked to the shadow fleet, the oil business, and Kremlin propagandists.
