People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak stated that almost all major anonymous Telegram channels published messages about protests in support of Mikhail Fedorov after the announcement of his resignation.

He announced this on his Telegram channel.

According to the deputy, the only major anonymous channel that didn’t mention the protests was “Skoree Vsek.” At the same time, Zheleznyak noted that he doesn’t evaluate the tone of the publications, but rather the fact that they exist.

“Since the event was high-profile, almost everyone formally wrote about it. But overall, very little was written about it. It appears the SBU and Bankovaya [the Federal Security Service] actively worked on the editorial policy here,” the parliamentarian stated.

On the eve, rallies in support of Mykhailo Fedorov were held in Kyiv and several other Ukrainian cities following the news of his dismissal from the post of Minister of Defense.

Nikita Poturaev, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy, also announced his early resignation as a member of parliament. He has already submitted his resignation to the Speaker of Parliament.

Moreover, European Commissioner for Defence and Space Andrius Kubilius called the resignation of Mykhailo Fedorov from the post of Minister of Defence of Ukraine “a big surprise”.

The European Solidarity faction called on Prime Minister candidate Sergei Koretsky to reinstate Mykhailo Fedorov in the new government and entrust him with security and defense matters.

Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrsky thanked Mykhailo Fedorov for his work as Minister of Defense of Ukraine and wished him continued success in Ukraine’s defense.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy decided to dismiss Mykhailo Fedorov from the post of Minister of Defense due to a long-standing conflict with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyy .

Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatiy responded to the resignation of Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov , emphasizing that the changes initiated in the military must continue regardless of personnel decisions.

Also on Thursday, July 16, rallies in support of former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov took place in several Ukrainian cities . People took to the streets following the decision to dismiss him, calling on the authorities to reconsider the personnel changes.
