Critical infrastructure in Kyiv has been damaged after a massive combined enemy attack. Almost 6,000 apartment buildings have been left without heat, and water supply disruptions are also being recorded in the city.

This was announced by the mayor of the capital, Vitali Klitschko.

According to Klitschko, half of the capital’s apartment buildings are currently without heat. This includes almost 6,000 residential buildings.

Municipal services have already restored power to social institutions, including hospitals and maternity hospitals. They are using mobile boiler rooms for this purpose. In parallel, municipal workers, together with energy specialists, are working to restore electricity and heat supply to residential buildings in Kyiv.

“We are doing everything to do this as soon as possible. But the combined attack on Kyiv last night was the most painful for the capital’s critical infrastructure,” said Vitaliy Klitschko.

The mayor also announced that city services are operating in emergency mode. According to him, weather conditions will remain difficult in the coming days.

“I also appeal to residents of the capital who have the opportunity to temporarily leave the city, where there are alternative sources of power and heat, to do so,” said Vitaliy Klitschko.

It is worth adding that People’s Deputy Oleksiy Kucherenko reported that in many districts of Kyiv today, water will be drained from internal building systems. Because of this, heating will be turned off until the temperature outside rises to at least +1 °C.

Recall that during the night attack, the Russian Federation damaged the Qatari embassy . President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on the international community, primarily the United States, to give a decisive and unambiguous response to Russia’s large-scale night attack on Ukraine. At the same time, as a result of the massive Russian shelling on the night of January 9, the water supply and heating in the building of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine disappeared .

By the way, on the night of January 9, Kyiv was subjected to a massive combined attack by enemy UAVs , which damaged residential buildings and infrastructure in several areas of the city. According to official information, 4 people were killed, and dozens of residents and emergency workers were injured.

The day before, it became known that on the night of January 9, the enemy struck peaceful settlements in the Kyiv region . As a result of the attack, fires were recorded, housing and infrastructure were damaged, and there were casualties, including a child in serious condition.
