American singer Oliver Tree dies in plane crash in Brazil

Two helicopters collided in Rio de Janeiro on June 14, killing all six people on board. Police said American singer Oliver Tree was among the passengers on one of the planes, but the identities of the dead have not yet been officially identified.

According to the Rio de Janeiro Fire Department, two helicopters collided on the morning of June 14 over the western part of the city. After the collision, both aircraft crashed. One of the helicopters was carrying 5 people, the other – only the pilot. All 6 people on board died in the crash.
One of the helicopters crashed into a car dealership where electric cars were parked. The crash caused a fire that was later extinguished by rescuers.
Rio de Janeiro police said American singer Oliver Tree was on a passenger list provided to aviation authorities, but they said they had not yet been able to officially identify the bodies.
According to CNN Brazil, Argentine blogger Gaspar Prima was also among the dead.
The competent authorities are currently conducting an investigation to determine the causes of the helicopter collision. Official conclusions regarding the circumstances of the plane crash have not yet been made public.
Oliver Tree (real name Oliver Tree Nickell) was born on June 29, 1993 in Santa Cruz, California, USA. He became famous for his combination of alternative pop, electronic music, rock and comedic style. He began his musical career in his teens and gained worldwide fame after the release of the singles “Hurt” and “Alien Boy”. The artist’s calling card was his unusual style, humorous clips and stage image with large glasses and a characteristic hairstyle.
