Amid talks in New York: US Chargé d’Affaires met with Poroshenko

Petro Poroshenko met with US Chargé d’Affaires in Ukraine Julia Davis at the European Solidarity office.

The fifth president announced this on social media.

He expressed gratitude to the US Administration and personally to President Donald Trump for their support of Ukraine and efforts to end the war.

“I emphasized that no one is more committed to ending the war than Ukraine. We discussed the situation on the battlefield and the current needs of the Ukrainian military,” Poroshenko noted.

“Special attention was paid to the need to strengthen the state’s resilience and enhance its negotiating position both on the front lines and at the negotiating table. He emphasized the importance of further pressure on the Russian aggressor, in particular by strengthening sanctions, halting the purchase of energy resources from Russia, and shutting down the Druzhba oil pipeline,” the leader wrote.
