In Kyiv, the SBU detained an 18-year-old boy who, according to investigators, helped the Russians register Starlink. In total, he was supposed to register 148 terminals that the occupiers wanted to use to prepare for combat operations in the Donetsk and Zaporizhia regions.

This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.

According to the SBU, the guy had previously studied to be an electric welder at one of the capital’s colleges. After graduating, he was looking for a way to make money quickly and came across relevant offers on Telegram. There, an officer of the Russian FSB contacted him and offered cooperation.

On the instructions of the Russian secret service, the guy began to formalize Starlink. Within a few days, he registered 15 terminals for his relatives and acquaintances, using their passport details. Then he prepared documents to register another 133 devices.

He was detained near the post office, where he was about to activate a new batch of Starlink.

The SBU blocked the terminals that the guy had already registered. Before that, he had transferred their data to his curator in Russia via messenger.

During the searches, law enforcement officers also found several phones on him with evidence of cooperation with Russian intelligence.

The guy was informed of suspicion of treason. He is currently in custody without the possibility of bail. If the court finds him guilty, he faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
