An electrical substation caught fire in the Moscow region: part of Moscow was left without electricity

A large-scale fire broke out at an electrical substation in the Moscow region, Russia. The fire caused power outages in several districts of Moscow and the region.

This was reported by local residents on social networks and the Russian publication “Meduza”.

According to eyewitnesses, a thick column of smoke was visible several kilometers from the scene of the fire. The fire occurred at an electrical substation in Lyubertsy.

After the incident, Lyubertsy and Kotelnyky were partially left without electricity. The head of the Kotelnyky urban district, Mikhail Sobolev, confirmed that the accident occurred at a substation of the Rosseti Moskovsky Region company.

“Due to an accident at a substation, there is no power supply in some areas,” he said.

The Lyubertsy administration also confirmed the power outage and stated that Rosseti specialists are establishing the causes of the accident.

There is currently no official information about casualties or the cause of the fire.

As a reminder, the Security Service of Ukraine struck hangars with Russian fighter jets at the Saki military airfield in temporarily occupied Crimea.

As reported, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that Ukrainian long-range weapons of mass destruction struck again at an oil refinery in Ufa, Russia, and also hit a strategic military-industrial complex facility in the Penza region.
