On Saturday, August 9, a powerful explosion occurred near the settlement of Krokmaz in the Stefan Voda district of Moldova, after which vegetation caught fire. At the scene, police found fragments of a combat drone, but no one was injured as a result of the explosion and fire.

The police received a report of an explosion near Krokmaz at around 1:20 p.m. The explosion set fire to dry vegetation.
“According to preliminary information, fragments of a combat drone were found at the scene,” the police said.
Specialized units were dispatched to the scene to establish the circumstances of the explosion and extinguish the fire. Specialists from the explosives and technical expertise department of the police were also sent to the scene.
Law enforcement officers are to conduct an inspection of the scene and a specialized examination, after which they promise to provide more detailed information about the origin of the debris and the circumstances of the explosion.
