Oslo Airport temporarily closed part of the runway on January 10 due to a report of a possible drone. The restrictions were imposed for safety reasons, but the runway was later reopened.

In the afternoon, police received a report from Avinor about the possible presence of a drone near the airport in the Norwegian capital.

According to available information, the drone was spotted in the restricted area of the airport, after which a decision was made to temporarily close the eastern runway.

“We observed and detected a drone in the restricted area of Oslo Airport. The eastern runway was closed for safety reasons,” said Avinor spokeswoman Carolina Pedersen.

She also reported that there could be minor flight delays due to heavy air traffic.

Police searched for the drone pilot for some time. At 2:38 p.m., law enforcement officials reported that neither the pilot nor the drone had been located.

After the completion of the inspection measures, the runway was reopened for use.

Recall that an unknown drone violated the airspace of the Netherlands , causing two F-35 military fighters to be scrambled.

As previously reported, on November 5, Vilnius Airport suspended operations due to the appearance of an unknown drone.

By the way, two unknown drones were spotted near one of the military bases in Estonia, one of which was neutralized.
