Anonymous Telegram channels with millions of subscribers systematically slander the leader of European Solidarity, the fifth President Petro Poroshenko.

Oksana Moroz, author and presenter of radio and television programs on information hygiene and founder of the volunteer initiative “How Not to Become a Vegetable,” discusses this in her video study.

She also believes that publications about Poroshenko bear the hallmarks of ordered smear campaigns.

“He’s in the category of those who are either negatively or not at all. That is, the overwhelming majority—close to, probably, 80% of the channels in the top 20. These are the ones that systematically post negative things about him. Among them are those who were even in the category of those who weren’t very cooperative with the authorities, but nevertheless, they take negative things about Poroshenko and post them.  “In this huge campaign, which, as a rule, is carried out on Poroshenko, across a large number of channels and quite systematically,” says Moroz.

“Most likely, this is my hypothesis that someone from pro-government forces is doing this and is systematically doing it,” the blogger notes.

“Let’s look at what exactly is being posted about Poroshenko. For me personally, all the videos and materials posted about him have very clear, negative connotations,” the expert says.

“If we go to anonymous Telegram channels, there’s a 100% chance we’ll find either focused political jingles, laced with business jingles, or focused business jingles, that is, paid, unlabeled materials. This is one of the consequences of consuming information from anonymous Telegram news channels. So, think again about whether it’s worth going there and getting information from them,” Moroz urges.
