On June 15, as part of the continuation of repatriation measures agreed upon in Istanbul, another 1,200 bodies were returned to Ukraine, which, according to the Russian side, belong to Ukrainian citizens, including military personnel.

This was reported by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

The identification process will begin soon: law enforcement officers, together with experts from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will conduct all necessary examinations.

This stage of repatriation was made possible by the coordinated work of the staff of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the Joint Center under the Security Service of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Office of the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, and the Secretariat of the Commissioner for Missing Persons.

Ukraine expresses its gratitude to the International Committee of the Red Cross for its assistance. Special thanks go to the personnel of the Central Directorate of Civil-Military Cooperation of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Joint Center for Support of Events of the Central Directorate of Military-Civil Cooperation of the Armed Forces, which transport the bodies to specialized state institutions, organize their transfer to law enforcement agencies and forensic medical examination.
