Another ship has sunk in Russia. The tugboat “Captain Ushakov”, which was launched just three years ago, sank on its starboard side.

This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation.

The tug sank due to flooding of auxiliary mechanisms during its completion. “Captain Ushakov” sank to the starboard side, despite attempts to save it, the vessel was completely submerged.

It is noted that this incident is yet another confirmation of the problems in the Russian fleet. The Russian Federation has numerous difficulties in maintaining even old warships.

In addition, the Russian Navy cannot complete the modernization of the large anti-submarine ship “Admiral Chabanenko” and has actually written off the only aircraft carrier “Admiral Kuznetsov”.

“These cases only highlight Russia’s inability to maintain even the basic elements of its fleet, which is an important factor for an aggressive foreign policy. Instead of building new ships, Russia cannot even keep the old ones in service,” the CPD noted.

Earlier , two explosions rocked the tanker Eco Wizard, which was carrying ammonia, in the Russian port of Ust-Luga, Leningrad Region . After the explosions, the ship began to sink, and a large-scale ammonia leak was recorded at the site.

As a reminder, the oil tanker Vilamoura exploded off the coast of Libya , which, according to the State Security Service, belongs to the Russian “shadow fleet”.
