Another stage of negotiations between Ukraine and the US has ended in Florida: first details

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov announced the completion of the next stage of negotiations between Ukraine and the United States in Florida. The parties have made progress in agreeing positions and narrowing the range of unresolved issues.

He wrote about this in Telegram .

According to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, during the second day of negotiations, the main attention was focused on issues of security guarantees and the humanitarian direction.

“During the meetings, we focused on the issues of reliable security guarantees and the humanitarian track, in particular the exchange and return of our citizens,” said Rustem Umerov.

He also noted that the parties have made progress in the negotiations.

“We have made progress in coordinating positions and further narrowing the range of unresolved issues,” said Rustem Umerov.

Following the meetings, the delegation reported on the results to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.

“We will present a detailed report after returning to Ukraine,” said Rustem Umerov.

Umerov thanked the United States for participating in the negotiation process and expressed hope for continued dialogue.

“We expect that the achieved dynamics will allow us to move on to the next stage of meetings,” said Rustem Umerov.

At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that bilateral meetings between the Ukrainian and American negotiating teams took place in the United States, the progress of which he had already been informed about.

According to the head of state, during the negotiations, in particular, the issue of prisoner exchange was discussed.

“And this would be really very good news and confirmation that diplomacy works. We hope it will work out,” said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The President noted that the negotiations lasted for 2 days, and he expects a detailed discussion of all results after the return of the Ukrainian delegation.

Also, according to him, there are currently signals regarding the possible continuation of prisoner exchanges.

It was previously reported that on March 21 , a Ukrainian delegation arrived in Miami for talks with US special representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. The Russians will not be at the meeting.
