President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law on amendments to the state budget for 2026. The document provides for a significant increase in funding for the security and defense sector.

This is stated on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.

According to the law, an additional 1.56 trillion hryvnia will be allocated for security and defense.

At the same time, the changes also provide for an increase in state budget revenues. After the revision, they will increase by 2.291 trillion hryvnias and amount to almost 5.2 trillion hryvnias.

The main source of additional revenue will be financial support from the European Union within the framework of the enhanced cooperation mechanism – UAH 2.221 trillion.

Ukraine plans to receive another 47.7 billion hryvnias within the framework of the European program Ukraine Facility, and 22.6 billion hryvnias should come from an increase in personal income tax revenues due to an increase in the financial support of military personnel.

As previously reported, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the Budget Declaration for 2027-2029. The document provides for an increase in the minimum wage and social standards, and also forecasts economic growth in the next three years.
