Apple season has already begun, but prices are biting: how much does the juicy fruit cost now?

In Ukraine, purchase prices for new harvest apples have increased almost threefold compared to last season.

This was reported in the EastFruit monitoring project.

The new crop apple season started in Ukraine on July 14, and Ukrainian gardeners began harvesting early-season apples at virtually the same time as last season.

Prices for apples of the new harvest were 60-70 hryvnias per kilogram.

According to the main suppliers of apples, the beginning of the season immediately negatively affected the sale of imported fruits, but Ukrainian traders are in no hurry to reduce product prices.

Sellers argue this by saying that the main supply on the Ukrainian apple market is imported products.

It is noted that demand for them remains low, as buyers most often prefer seasonal fruits and berries.

Ukrainian apple producers plan to enter the market en masse starting next week.

Gardeners predict that apple prices will decrease as the supply of local apples on the market increases, while imported apples may also become cheaper.

It was previously reported that Ukraine has seen a significant increase in meat prices since the beginning of summer . Experts predict that the cost of meat products will continue to increase due to a shortage of raw materials, seasonal demand, and rising production costs.

Recall that the State Statistics Service reported that over the year the prices of all basic products in Ukraine have increased significantly : in June 2025, inflation for consumer goods reached 23.2%, while the overall consumer price index was only 14.3%.
