Arms exports have always existed: before the war, they are still operating now, and they will continue to do so in the future, says Ukrainian Armored Vehicles.

The export of weapons is always controlled by the State Service for Export Control” – “Ukrainian armored vehicles”.

This was stated by Maksym Polivyany, Deputy General Director of Ukrainian Armored Vehicles LLC, during a panel discussion entitled “From War to Market: Is Ukraine Ready to Become an Arms Exporter?” organized by Ukrainska Pravda.

“Weapons exports have always existed: before the war, they continue to function now, and they will continue to function in the future. And they have always been controlled, meaning they have been supervised to the fullest extent by the state. For this purpose, we have established and are operating a special body – the State Service for Export Control. We have developed a legislative and regulatory framework that meets international standards. Using the existing regulatory framework, the state is capable of fully enforcing control over the export of weapons and military equipment and protecting national interests,” he stated.

Polivyany warns against attempts to create artificial export control mechanisms.

“The creation of any additional artificial control mechanisms, such as a return to market monopolization by state-owned special exporters, poses the risk of a rollback from European policy in this area and a shift to the Russian model. Furthermore, this will create additional corruption risks and will not benefit manufacturing companies, as it will inevitably increase product costs due to the inclusion of an additional domestic intermediary. This will undoubtedly reduce the competitiveness of Ukrainian products in foreign markets, where competition is already very intense,” the head of Ukrainian Armored Vehicles asserts.
