In the Ukrainian capital, approximately 500,000 families remain without power following massive Russian shelling. Power workers continue to deal with the aftermath of the attack and are working in an enhanced mode.

They noted that specialists are doing everything possible to restore power as quickly as possible. Power workers are prioritizing critical infrastructure, particularly transportation and water supply systems.

Earlier, Naftogaz CEO Serhiy Koretskyi reported that Russian forces had once again attacked Ukraine’s gas and energy infrastructure. According to him, the “shahid” strikes targeted Naftogaz gas production facilities and combined heat and power plants.

Koretsky emphasized that the enemy is synchronizing attacks with periods of cold weather, attempting to take advantage of peak loads on the system and cause large-scale power outages.

As a reminder,on the night of December 27, Russian troops launched a large-scale attack on Kyiv and the Kyiv region. The shelling resulted in the destruction of residential buildings and infrastructure, and there were casualties. According to updated reports, the number of wounded in the capital has risen to 11, including a 16-year-old child.
