Arrest for another 60 days: decision regarding suspect in Parubiy case

A court in Lviv has extended the preventive measure for Mykhailo Stcelnikov, a suspect in the murder of Andriy Parubiy. He was kept in custody for another 60 days without the right to post bail.

This is reported by Suspilne with reference to the court hearing.

During the preliminary hearing, the defendant stated that $200 disappeared during the seizure of his property. He also claims that his cellmate allegedly lost sports equipment.

As a reminder, the investigation into the murder of Ukrainian MP and former Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy has been completed. Prosecutors from the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office have sent an indictment against the 53-year-old suspect to the court.

As reported, on August 30, 2025 , public and political figure Andriy Parubiy was killed in Lviv . Later, journalists reported that MP Andriy Parubiy was shot 8 times by a man disguised as a courier.

It is known that the SBU reported on the possible involvement of Russian special services in organizing the assassination attempt on MP Andriy Parubiy.
