Ukraine is preparing to deploy a new artificial intelligence-based air defense system that should strengthen the defense of cities against Russian attacks.

This is reported by The Washington Post.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov stated that Kyiv already has a specific vision for airspace protection.

“We have a clear plan on how to stop Russia in our skies,” Fedorov said during a meeting at the Defense Ministry headquarters in Kyiv.

According to the publication, immediately after that, he signed an agreement with the American company Palantir to create an advanced AI Dataroom – a system that will use data sets from sensors and images collected during the war to predict Russian attacks and guide cheap autonomous interceptors.

The Washington Post notes that the new system should work faster than human decisions and cost significantly less than the missiles and drones with which Russia attacks Ukrainian cities.

As previously reported, a large-scale transformation of the unmanned sector is underway in Ukraine : the state is preparing its own alternative to the Chinese Mavic drones, launching a digital Mission Control system, and forming special units to destroy enemy UAV operators.

As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine has already reached the level of production of about a thousand interceptor drones per day to counter Russian attacks.
