Assassination attempt on GRU general: who shot Alekseev and why

Vladimir Alekseev, the first deputy chief of the GRU General Staff, was attacked in the Russian capital. The official was hospitalized in serious condition after an unknown assailant shot him in the back and disappeared.

Military analyst Ivan Stupak noted on the air of “Pryamoy” that this general directly led the occupation of the Kherson region and supervised the activities of private military companies.

“With a probability of 99%, of course, it still goes to us, because once again, who is he important to? He is really important to us, because this person is responsible for a large number of operations and the Russians call him a bright head, a bright, adequate, correct, competent leader,” Stupak noted.

According to the analyst, Alekseev is a native of Vinnytsia region, but has been working for the aggressor for a long time, organizing reconnaissance operations and recruiting people to adjust strikes on Ukraine.

Stupak noted that the general is considered the ideological founder of the Wagner PMC and provided it with resources through military intelligence capabilities. Despite his high position, the attack occurred when the official was unguarded near his entrance at around 7 a.m.

As a reminder, in Moscow, an unknown person attempted to assassinate Lieutenant General of the Russian Army Vladimir Alekseev . The soldier was hospitalized, law enforcement officers have initiated criminal proceedings and are searching for the attacker.

According to journalist Denis Kazansky, this general was behind the creation of the Wagner PMC and other Russian PMCs. According to the Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s GUR, Alekseev was born in Ukraine and is involved in organizing intelligence support for Russian aggression, as well as in preparing data for missile and air strikes on Ukrainian territory, in particular on civilian objects.

At the same time, representatives of the Ukrainian authorities admit that Moscow may use the incident with the deputy head of the Russian GRU, General Vladimir Alekseev, as an excuse to delay the negotiations, disrupt them, or change the composition of the Russian delegation for security reasons.
