At a meeting with MEP Michael Gahler, Petro Poroshenko called for increased financial assistance from the EU to Ukraine.
Fifth President and leader of European Solidarity Petro Poroshenko met with German politician, European Parliament rapporteur on Ukraine, and Member of the European Parliament Michael Gahler.
“I emphasized that comprehensive support for Ukraine, strengthening negotiating positions to end the war, increasing military and economic aid to our country, and accelerating negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the EU should be a priority on the European Parliament’s agenda,” the fifth President noted on social media .

“We congratulated the European Commission’s decision to allocate €6 billion to Ukraine to strengthen the Ukrainian army, specifically the acquisition of Petriot interceptors. We called for an increase in financial assistance to Ukraine from the European Union to cover the budget deficit, particularly for the costs of strengthening energy infrastructure and reconstruction programs,” Poroshenko wrote.

“We discussed the prospects for opening the remaining clusters as part of the accession negotiations by the end of this year. We focused on implementing priority reforms in the areas of democracy, the rule of law, justice, and the fight against corruption,” noted Petro Poroshenko.
