In Washington on August 18, US President Donald Trump will first meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and they will later be joined by European leaders and the NATO Secretary General.
This was reported by the Bild newspaper.
“Initially, Trump will receive only the president of Ukraine. Only then will he be joined by senior EU officials accompanying him,” the material says.
According to German government officials, a working dinner and several hours of expanded discussion are planned at the White House.
It is noted that the reason for the meeting is to discuss a potential peace agreement between Ukraine and the Russian Federation against the backdrop of the Trump-Putin summit, which took place on Friday in Alaska.
As a reminder, Volodymyr Zelenskyy previously announced a visit to the White House , where he plans to discuss the details of a potential trilateral meeting with Donald Trump.
By the way, European allies plan to support Volodymyr Zelensky during his visit to the United States in order to strengthen his position in negotiations with Donald Trump and avoid possible conflicts in the White House.
As it became known, a number of world leaders will participate in the meeting between Zelensky and Trump , including the President of the European Commission, the Secretary General of NATO, the presidents of France, Germany, and Finland, as well as the prime ministers of Great Britain and Italy.
