At what stage is the transfer of weapons within the PURL initiative: Sibiga’s response

The first aid package under the PURL initiative, worth $2 billion, is already under implementation.

This was stated by Minister of Foreign Affairs Andriy Sybiga, RBC-Ukrainereports .

According to him, six countries have so far participated in the initiative. In addition, seven more states want to join it.

“As of today, we can talk about the intention of 7 more countries to participate with a specific contribution to this program,” he assured.

Sibiga emphasized that a meeting of the Contact Group on Defense Issues of Ukraine in the “Ramstein” format will soon be held, which will be a good platform for discussing supplies.

“We are expecting Ramstein. Therefore, it seems to me that these are good platforms where this topic will be discussed and practical results can be expected,” the minister added.

It was previously reported that partners contributed $1.5 billion to NATO’s PURL initiative , thanks to which Ukraine receives weapons from the United States.

By the way, in September,the administration of US President Donald Trump approved the first two packages of military aid to Ukraine , financed by NATO funds. This is the PURL mechanism, which allows for the rapid supply of weapons from US stocks with funding from allies.
