On the night of Tuesday, December 2, the Oryol region of Russia was attacked by drones. The target was the Orelnefteproduct oil depot in the city of Livny, where a fire broke out.
This was reported by war correspondent Andriy Tsaplienko.
According to the governor of the Oryol region, Andrey Klichkov, the incident occurred in the Livensky district at the facilities of the fuel and energy complex. There were no injuries, and measures to eliminate the consequences of the fire are ongoing at the site.
Local residents are capturing the scale of the fire and the aftermath of the drone attack on video. Information confirms that the drones hit a critically important energy facility in the region.
At the same time, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the allegedly successful operation of air defense on the night of December 2: according to the agency, 45 drones were shot down over eight regions of the Russian Federation, including occupied Crimea and the Black Sea.
According to the agency, the largest number of drones were allegedly destroyed over the Bryansk region – 14, in the Krasnodar region – 8, Volgograd region – 5, Chechnya – 4, Rostov region – 2, one each – over the Oryol, Lipetsk and Tver regions. Also, 3 drones were allegedly shot down over the Black Sea and 6 – over Crimea.
However, there is no independent confirmation of this data, and numerous sources draw attention to possible exaggerations in the number of UAVs hit.
Recall that on the night of December 2 , new drone strikes were recorded in two regions of Russia, which caused fires and explosions at fuel and energy and industrial infrastructure facilities.
