Attack on Kyiv: death toll rises, 12-year-old child among victims

In the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv, rescuers have recovered the bodies of two more people, including a 12-year-old girl, from the rubble of a residential building. The number of victims of the Russian strike has risen to five.

This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko .

According to rescuers, search and rescue operations are ongoing. At least 20 people are currently missing.

Psychologists, dog handlers from the State Emergency Service, and heavy engineering equipment are working at the scene of the tragedy, which is involved in clearing the rubble.

Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko clarified that one of the dead was a 12-year-old girl, whose body was recovered from under the ruins of a house.

In total, 39 people were injured in the capital as a result of Russian shelling, including one child.

Another 28 people were rescued.

The search and rescue operation in the Darnytsia district is ongoing.

As a reminder, on the night of Thursday, May 14, Russian occupation forces carried out a massive combined attack on Kyiv. The enemy struck the capital with drones and missiles, explosions were heard in several areas, fires and destruction occurred . One person was killed and at least 16 injured.

As reported, as a result of the massive Russian attack on Kyiv, the number of injured people has increased to 40 people, including two children . Some of the wounded were hospitalized in the capital’s hospitals.
