Attack on Russian military aviation: Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked a company that produced MiGs
On Friday, July 11, Ukrainian defenders struck a defense enterprise in Russia — the Lukhovitsy Aviation Plant, located in the Moscow Region.
This was stated by the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, Andriy Kovalenko.
According to him, the plant specializes in the production and modernization of MiG-29, MiG-31 fighters and their modifications. In addition, the enterprise is involved in the creation of new models of combat aircraft, in particular, the project of a “promising front-line fighter” based on the MiG platform.
Also, according to Kovalenko, the plant is participating in the modernization of the Geran/Shahed unmanned aerial vehicles.
Local residents of the city of Lukhovitsy reported the sounds of explosions above the city in the morning. Social media users wrote that an air defense system was working, and a helicopter was spotted in the sky, which is likely being used to combat drones.
So far, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has not received any official comments regarding this attack.
Recall, on the night of Friday, July 11, a series of explosions shook the Russian regions near key enterprises of the defense-industrial complex . The attacks were recorded in Tula, the Moscow region, in particular Dubna and Lukhovitsy, and the Tver region.
As reported, on the morning of July 7 , long-range drones of the Main Intelligence Directorate struck the Ilya oil refinery in the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation.
