Attacks on Russian oil refining continue: two more refineries hit

Ukrainian defense forces have struck two large oil refineries in Russia – Bashneft-UNPZ in Ufa and Kuibyshev Refinery in Samara. Fires were recorded on the territory of both enterprises.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In Ufa, Republic of Bashkortostan, the Bashneft-UNPZ oil refinery was hit. After the attack, a fire broke out on the territory of the enterprise.

According to the General Staff, the plant’s capacity is about 7.5 million tons of oil per year . The enterprise produces gasoline, diesel and boiler fuel, liquefied gases, sulfur and other petroleum products.

The Defense Forces also struck the Kuibyshev Refinery in Samara. A fire was also recorded on the territory of the enterprise.

The capacity of this plant is about 7 million tons of oil per year . It produces gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil and over 30 other types of petroleum products.

The General Staff noted that the products of both enterprises are used to meet the needs of the Russian army.

“The destruction of such facilities is Ukraine’s exercise of its inalienable right to self-defense in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter and is aimed at reducing the military-economic potential of the Russian Federation,” the General Staff emphasized.

Recall that after the Ukrainian attack, the Moscow Refinery completely stopped oil processing . According to Reuters, repairs to the damaged facilities could take several weeks.

Previously, “Pryamiy” also wrote about the damage to the refinery in the Samara region . Then, after the strike on the Novokuibyshevsk refinery, a fire also broke out on the territory of the enterprise.
