Russian propagandists are spreading a fake story about the detention and preparation of the execution of three Ukrainian spies in Iran.

This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation.

The Central Intelligence Agency noted that the Russians continue to attempt to discredit Ukraine amid the escalation in the Middle East.

“A fake story was spread in the Russian media about the alleged detention of three Ukrainian intelligence officers in Isfahan. Now propagandists have added that they were allegedly sentenced to death,” the report says.

It is noted that Russian propaganda media are trying to reinforce negative attitudes towards Ukraine among the Iranian population.

As is known, on June 13, Israel launched a large-scale air strike on the territory of Iran . The targets were facilities related to the Iranian nuclear program. As a result of the air strike on Tehran , more than 70 people died, including at least 20 high-ranking military personnel .

As a reminder, the United States Air Force attacked Iran’s nuclear infrastructure , including the most protected facility in Fordow. Later, Pentagon chief Pete Haggett said that the United States’ strikes had destroyed Iran’s nuclear program .
