Russian dictator Vladimir Putin said that new sanctions by the United States will have no effect on the Russian economy.

This was reported by propaganda media.

According to him, the US is allegedly trying to put pressure on the Russians, but this will have no effect.

“No self-respecting country ever does anything under pressure,” Putin said.

In addition, he commented on the information about the meeting with US President Donald Trump. The dictator assured that the summit was proposed by the American side during the last conversation with Trump.

He assured that approaching the meeting in Budapest without preparation would be a mistake, so “it is more likely about postponing the summit.”

“Dialogue is always better than confrontation, disputes, or the continuation of war,” Putin emphasized.

At the same time, in his opinion, Russia and the United States have many areas for cooperation if the countries move from pressure to serious dialogue in the future.

Among other things, he mentioned Tomahawk missiles, calling talks about weapons transfers “an attempt at escalation on the part of Kyiv.”

“Russia’s response to Tomahawk strikes on Russian territory will be serious, if not overwhelming ,” the Kremlin leader said.

Recall that the Donald Trump administration announced the first major package of financial restrictions aimed at the Russian economy.

Previously, Donald Trump intended to meet with the Kremlin leader in Hungary in order to end Russia’s war against Ukraine.

However, it later became known that preparations for a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin in Budapest have been suspended for now .
