Attempted to break through to the Izyum-Slovyansk highway: Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed Russian DRG in the Lyman direction

In the Lyman direction, fighters of the Third Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed a Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group. The enemy tried to create a bridgehead for a further offensive in the Oskol area, but the attempt was thwarted.

This was reported by the press service of the Third Assault Brigade.

During an attempt to break through into the forest area near the Izyum-Slovyansk highway, a Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group was eliminated by the Ukrainian military.

The fighters of the Third Army Corps cleared the area, which allowed them to preserve logistical routes to the front line.

The operation took place near the settlement of Novoselivka. Scouts of the Third Assault Brigade tracked down the enemy and stormed the hangars and basements where the saboteurs were hiding.

During the battle, Ukrainian soldiers shot down enemy drones, seized a Russian radio, and destroyed the remaining occupiers who refused to surrender.

As a result, Ukrainian forces managed to thwart the enemy’s attempt to advance and increase pressure in the Lyman direction.

By the way, in September 2025, the Russian army was able to occupy a much smaller area of Ukrainian territory than a month earlier.

It was previously reported that the arrival of elite units of the Russian FSB special forces and marines was recorded in the temporarily occupied Mariupol of the Donetsk region.

It is worth adding that on the night of October 15, it became known about the advance of Russian occupation forces in the Donetsk region. At the same time, Russian troops occupied three settlements in Zaporizhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions, and also advanced near two villages.
