In August 2026, the average salary in Ukraine was 30,000 hryvnias, according to the Work.ua platform. This figure has increased by 20% over the year, and the highest salaries among cities are offered in Kyiv and for remote work.
This was reported by “24 Channel” with reference to Work.ua.
The increase in wages is attributed to the fact that Ukrainian companies are finding it increasingly difficult to find workers due to mobilization, migration, and demographic changes. Due to the shortage of personnel, employers are forced to compete for workers and raise salaries in order to attract new employees and retain existing ones.
The following professions saw the biggest increase in wages over the year:
- watchman – by 83%;
- technologist for furniture production – by 69%;
- roofer – by 67%;
- bricklayer – by 63%;
- programming teacher – by 60%;
- monitoring specialist – by 56%.
The salaries of civil engineers, tilers and artificial intelligence specialists also increased by 50%. The highest salaries among Ukrainian cities in August were offered in Kyiv – an average of 36,400 hryvnias. Next in terms of salary levels are:

- Dnipro – 29 thousand hryvnias;
- Ivano-Frankivsk – 28 thousand hryvnias;
- Chernivtsi – 27,800 hryvnias.
In Zhytomyr and Zaporizhia, the average salary for vacancies is 25 thousand hryvnias. Lower figures are recorded in Sumy, Kherson, Kryvyi Rih, Kropyvnytskyi and other cities.
