On Sunday, August 10, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a telephone conversation with Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev, during which they discussed the Russian strikes.
This was reported by the publication Caliber.Az.
In particular, politicians focused on attacks on Ukrainian gas infrastructure, through which Azerbaijani gas passes, and the SOCAR oil depot in Odessa.
According to the publication’s sources, if the Kremlin continues to shell the relevant facilities, Baku may lift the embargo on arms supplies to Ukraine.
“Russian armed forces have begun to consistently strike Azerbaijani energy facilities on the territory of Ukraine. This situation is forcing Baku to take retaliatory measures,” the material says.
It should be noted that on the night of August 8, Russian troops attacked an oil depot of the Azerbaijani company SOCAR in the Odessa region with strike drones.
It was previously reported that Ukraine is starting to import Azerbaijani gas through the Trans-Balkan Corridor. This will help diversify the country’s economy.
