Former Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Olga Stefanishyna failed to pay UAH 6 million in bail within the deadline set by law. At the same time, her lawyers appealed the decision on a preventive measure.

This is reported by hromadske with reference to the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court.

On August 6, the Supreme Court of Ukraine chose Stefanishyna as a preventive measure in the form of a bail of UAH 6 million in the framework of the case of illicit enrichment.

According to the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, the suspect must post bail no later than five days after the relevant decision is made. As of the evening of August 11, the funds for Stefanyshyna had not been received.

In such circumstances, the prosecutor has the right to go to court and request a change in the preventive measure.

Meanwhile, on August 11, the Appeals Chamber of the Supreme Court of Ukraine received an appeal from Stefanishyna’s lawyers against the decision on a preventive measure. The court is expected to consider the appeal in the near future.
