Bankova’s New Performance Art: Selling Out the Soul at Speed

Bankova has debuted a grotesque new performance: the rapid devaluation of conscience. If there is no evidence, invent it — and do so swiftly, viciously, with all the theatricality of a regime desperate for enemies; if none exist abroad, manufacture them at home. What looks like politics has become a craft of fabrication, turning truth into currency and moral bankruptcy into state policy.
Andriy Yermak places the “order,” Vice Prime Minister Kuleba signs the terms of reference, and subordinates — like mechanical scribes — churn out fakes in an endless stream. Patriotism on paper, conscience sold wholesale.
In this game, Kyrylo Budanov is no figurehead but a convenient target. The GUR is not a puppet structure — it saves lives and destroys the enemy, while, in high offices, others calculate how to redistribute attention. And what do we get in the end? A systemic assault on professionals who act where death is real, not performative. Why? Because it is easier to stage a spectacle than to take responsibility for failure.
The scheme is crude and predictable: simultaneous postings on anonymous channels, amplification by Russian propagandists, “generous offers” for the media, and there it is, an information fire without flames. Yet the fire burns — from within. Who pays for it? Not those who sign the orders. It is the spies, the soldiers, the families waiting for truth but fed lies, who pay the price.
This is not mere political filth — it is a state-level rape of trust. When a government hurls a stone at its own army, it strikes its own shield. Some believe they can toy with commanders’ names as if they were images on a screen. Some believe a journalist’s conscience can be bought. But the money will run out — the consequences will not. Lies age faster than people lose their honor.
A Question for Bankova:
Are you deliberately undermining the country’s defense capabilities — or is it just another coincidence, another proof that politics, for you, is nothing more than primitive theater? If the goal is to mask failure, congratulations: the mission is accomplished. Instead of answers — a show; instead of reform — a circus; instead of support — a stream of mud.
You cannot be a state and a fake factory at the same time. A state protects those who protect it. And if it starts throwing stones at its own defenders, it should not be surprised when those defenders turn their backs. Then there will be no one left to protect — neither the custodians of power nor the solipsistic scripts written behind closed doors.
A final warning: satire can be tolerated; manipulation cannot. When those in power question the professionalism of their own intelligence services for the sake of political PR, they cease to be authorities — they become adversaries. And the enemies of our country can quietly rejoice: behind the walls of the Cabinet of Ministers, they are now composing not the music of victory, but the script of division. Remember: the enemy always laughs last — and this time, that laughter is at our expense.
