Russia is deploying new tactics and technologies that enable its strike drones to evade Ukrainian interceptor drones, escalating the technological battle in the conflict.
This was announced during a telethon by the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhaylo Fedorov.
“Technological development is like blitz chess. Everything changes very quickly, there is little time, and you constantly have to make decisions,” he explained.
Fedorov noted that Russia is rapidly advancing its technologies, which means the success rate of shooting down Shaheds by interceptor drones may fluctuate. Meanwhile, Ukraine is actively deploying countermeasures.
“This is a daily change of tactics. The outcome depends on who adapts faster,” the minister emphasized.
He added that contracts have already been signed with at least four companies developing large-scale interceptor solutions.
“There are promising technological advances using cutting-edge technologies, with solutions that usually take years of work having already been found and implemented,” Fedorov assured.
According to him, the timeline for Ukraine to have a sufficient number of interceptors depends on scaling up production.
However, the Russian Federation is targeting Ukraine’s critical infrastructure and production facilities, so we must also strengthen security, the official noted.
Earlier, it became known that Russian Shahed drones began to perform complex maneuvers in flight to avoid being hit by Ukrainian interceptor drones.
Recall that the Russian troops may soon begin using updated “Shaheds”, which are capable of real-time control. Instead of a preset flight path, there is manual control and coordination between several aircraft in the air.
By the way, a large-scale project “Clean Sky” is being implemented in Kyiv, aimed at protecting the city’s airspace from Shaped-type unmanned aerial vehicles using Ukrainian interceptor drones.
