Battlefield work: Ukrainian Armed Forces receive new Bizon-L complex
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has codified and approved for use in the Armed Forces the new ground robotic complex “Bizon-L”.
As reported by the Ministry of Defense, this is a Ukrainian development, created to operate in conditions of modern intensive combat and under the influence of electronic warfare means.
“The Bizon-L NRC is equipped with several communication channels, including LTE, Wi-Fi, Starlink and others, which ensures stable control even in the area of enemy electronic warfare,” the department noted.
The complex can be deployed quickly — in a few minutes, moves at a speed of up to 12 km/h, has a load capacity of up to 300 kg and a range of up to 50 km. Its chassis allows it to operate on difficult terrain, including swamps, snow and ice.
“The control system allows for the integration of combat and functional modules into a single interface,” the department added.
The department also emphasizes that the design of the complex has a reduced thermal footprint, which makes it difficult to detect in the infrared spectrum.
The Bizon-L can be used for battlefield logistics – transporting ammunition, evacuating the wounded, as well as engineering and support tasks. If necessary, it can be equipped with a combat module with a 12.7 mm machine gun.
“In other words, instead of military personnel, robots are increasingly entering the most dangerous zones. This is about technologies that save lives,” the President of Ukraine previously noted, commenting on the development of ground robotic systems.
