“Reduced to ashes”: Russia destroyed one of Zaporizhzhia’s largest shopping centers

Russian forces launched a drone strike on the Amstor shopping center in Zaporizhia on the evening of September 17. The building was destroyed, one person was injured, and a fire spread over 10,000 square meters after the strike.
The consequences of the attack were reported to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
After the impact, a large-scale fire broke out in the shopping complex. Rescuers extinguished the fire on an area of more than 10,000 square meters .
The firefighters’ work was complicated by the constant threat of repeated attacks by the Russian Federation. Due to the danger, rescuers had to interrupt extinguishing the fire and retreat to shelters.
As of the morning of September 18, emergency and rescue operations were completed. All emergency services of the city were working on the scene.
Acting Head of the Zaporizhzhia OVA Mykhailo Semikin released footage of the destroyed shopping center.
“This is what the enemy leaves behind – complete ruins. A shopping center in a residential area of the city has become a charred wreck,” he said.
The Amstor shopping center is located in the Khortytskyi district of Zaporizhia. After the impact, the building actually burned down.
Recall that on the same day, Russian troops attacked a passenger bus in Zaporizhia with an FPV drone . People were injured as a result of the strike.
